Srinagar, Jul 11: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast one to two spells of rain and thundershowers at many places across Jammu and Kashmir on July 11 and 12, with heavy rainfall and brief intense showers likely at isolated places in the Chenab Valley and Pir Panjal range of Jammu division.

According to the MeT Department, hot and humid weather conditions are expected to prevail from July 13 to 17, with brief spells of rain and thundershowers at scattered places and isolated intense showers mainly over parts of Jammu division. Fresh spells of light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely at many places across the Union Territory between July 18 and 20.

The MeT has also warned of the possibility of heavy rainfall and brief intense showers during the early morning hours of July 11 and 12 at a few places. It cautioned that vulnerable areas of the Chenab Valley and Pir Panjal range may witness flash floods, landslides and mudslides due to the inclement weather.

The department has advised people to stay away from nallahs, streams and landslide-prone areas and to follow weather updates and advisories issued by the authorities.
