Vehicle hits three CRPF personnel on Yatra duty in Srinagar, driver held, probe taken-up

Srinagar: Three CRPF personnel deployed for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra were injured after a vehicle hit them near Taingan Bypass in the Nowgam area of Srinagar on Wednesday morning, officials said.
They said police apprehended the driver shortly after the incident and begun the investigation.
An official said that the vehicle struck three personnel of D Company, 148 Battalion CRPF, who were deployed on Yatra security duty at Taingan Bypass.
He said the driver was apprehended soon after the accident and taken into custody.
The injured personnel were immediately shifted to Ujala Cygnus Hospital, Nowgam, where they are undergoing treatment. Their condition is stated to be stable, the official said.
Police have launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to the incident.
