Srinagar, July 9 (UNI) J&K Police on Thursday carried out coordinated raids at multiple locations in the Baramulla district in connection with an investigation under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), seizing four mobile phones and a laptop for forensic examination.
Police said the searches were conducted as part of the investigation into the FIR registered in 2026 at Police Station Baramulla under Section 13 of the UAPA and Section 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
According to the police, the searches were carried out at the residences of Faraz Ashraf Gojri of Iqbal Colony; Waseem Ali Kar of Kanli Bagh; Tanveer Ahmad Mir, alias Kaka Mir, of Tawheed Gunj, presently residing at Gulnar Park, Azad Gunj; and Waseem Hussain Mir of Khawajabagh Jetty.
During the operation, police seized four mobile phones and one laptop, which have been secured for forensic analysis to assist in the ongoing investigation, the police said.
The searches were conducted in accordance with legal procedures and in the presence of executive magistrates and independent witnesses, police said.
The action forms part of Baramulla Police’s continuing investigation into offences related to unlawful activities, adding that the probe is being carried out in a professional, lawful and transparent manner while ensuring public order and national security, they added.
