Baramulla : Police on Wednesday said that it has seized two JCB excavators for being involved in the unauthorized extraction of minerals.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Police said that a penalty of ₹23,317 has been imposed on one violator under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, while legal action was initiated against the second operator after the vehicle was seized. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to zero-tolerance policy against illegal mining and appealed people to report such activities.
