CEO orders immediate suspension on recommendation of Transit Camp Manigam nodal officer

Ganderbal, July 8: Four government school teachers have been placed under suspension with immediate effect in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district over an alleged lapse in duties assigned for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, officials said on Wednesday.

The action was ordered by the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Ganderbal, following a recommendation from the Nodal Officer of Transit Camp Manigam (Assistant Commissioner Revenue), who reported the matter to the education department through an official communication dated July 7.

The suspended teachers have been identified as Bilal Ahmad Sheikh of Haripora, Kangan; Aabid Mohi-ud-Din Bhat of Manigam; Peer Mudasir of Wussan; and Gowhar Rashid Kulloo of Gund.

The CEO, in the order, said the four teachers were being placed under suspension with immediate effect based on the communication received from the nodal officer overseeing the Yatra transit camp.

The order, however, does not specify the exact nature of the alleged lapse that led to the disciplinary action.

The suspensions come amid heightened administrative arrangements for the annual Amarnath Yatra, during which teachers and other government employees have been deployed at various transit camps and registration centres to assist in the management of the pilgrimage
