Ganderbal : Police on Manday again came to the aid of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims by tracing lost luggage and safely securing unclaimed cash in Ganderbal district.
Officials said three pilgrims approached Police Post Manigam after discovering that the driver of their vehicle had inadvertently left the Transit Camp Manigam parking area with their luggage after they had disembarked.
Acting promptly, police examined CCTV footage and verified the parking entry register, identifying the vehicle (JK04C-6986), a Tavera. The luggage was subsequently traced and returned to its rightful owners.
In a separate incident, Head Constable Farooq Ahmad, who was on duty at the transit camp, found unattended cash near the parking area. Despite public announcements, no claimant came forward. The cash has been taken into police custody and will be handed over to its rightful owner after due verification.
