Seeks welfare measures for affected farmers, orchardists
Srinagar: M. Yousuf Bhat, Executive Member of Bharatiya Janata Party J&K, on Friday called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and raised issues concerning the sale of substandard and counterfeit pesticides in Shopian district.
During the meeting, Bhat highlighted concerns over the impact of spurious pesticides on agriculture and horticulture, particularly on farmers and orchardists in the district, and sought welfare measures for those affected.
The Lieutenant Governor assured him that the matter would be examined thoroughly and that appropriate action would be taken in the interest of the farming community.
