J&K Govt appoints 49 dependents under Rehab Assistance Scheme

Jammu : The Jammu and Kashmir Government has granted compassionate appointments to 49 eligible dependents of deceased employees through Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) under the Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme, 2022.
The appointments cover eligible cases from 2022 to 2025 and were made as per the scheme notified vide SO 429 of 2022 dated October 6, 2022, subsequently amended through SO 397 of 2024 dated August 16, 2024. JPDCL adopted the scheme in 2025 and undertook a process to clear pending cases, with each application scrutinised for transparency, fairness and adherence to eligibility conditions. One eligible dependent in each family was extended a job.
The Managing Director, JPDCL, said every appointment was made with complete transparency and in compliance with government guidelines and that JPDCL will continue implementing the scheme while maintaining accountability and efficiency. The government has directed that all eligible cases under the scheme be disposed of in a time-bound manner.
