Baramulla, June 29: In a significant step towards combating drug trafficking and substance abuse, Baramulla Police today destroyed 10.570 kilograms of seized heroin, having an estimated market value of crores of rupees, at the authorised Drug Disposal Facility of M/s Kashmir Health Care System, IGC Lassipora, Pulwama.
The destruction of the seized contraband was carried out by the UT-Level High-Level Drug Disposal Committee (HLDDC) in compliance with the orders of the Hon’ble Special Court (NDPS), Baramulla, and in accordance with the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985 and the NDPS Rules, 2022, after completion of all prescribed legal formalities. The disposal process was conducted under the supervision of the Inspector General of Police, Crime, J&K, in the presence of the Deputy Inspector General of Police, North Kashmir Range, Baramulla, SSP, ANTF, J&K, and other designated members of the Committee, ensuring complete transparency and strict adherence to all statutory procedures.
Police reiterates its unwavering commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against narcotics and will continue its sustained efforts under the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan to dismantle drug networks and safeguard society from the menace of drugs.
