Jammu : Two persons were killed and four others injured after a car they were travelling in met with an accident near Basti Morh in Bhaderwah belt of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police said that the accident occurred after the driver lost control on the wheel, veered off the road and fell into the maize field.
Locals immediately rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation while the injured were shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bhaderwah
Doctors however, declared two persons, identified as Imam Din (60), resident of Gujjar Colony, and Zaytoon Bibi (60), resident of Akhnoor, succumbed to injuries during treatment.
The four injured were later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Doda for specialised treatment.
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh sharing a post on X said, “spoke to DC Doda Krishan Lal after the tragic road accident in Bhaderwah that claimed the lives of Imam Hussain and Jatuna. Four others were injured in the accident.”
He said three injured persons were discharged after first aid at SDH Bhaderwah, while one patient with a head injury is being shifted to GMC Jammu for specialized treatment.
Dr. Singh expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and said his office is in constant touch with the district administration.
