Pulwama|June, 25:Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama (Principal Census Officer), Dr. Basharat Qayoom, Thursday  continued his charge-wise review of the ongoing House Listing and Housing Census (HLO) operations under Census-2027 and assessed the progress of field activities in various census charges of the district.

The DC visited the Census Charges of Rajpora, Pampore, Khrew, Awantipora, Tral and Aripal where he assessed the progress achieved under the House Listing and Housing Census phase and reviewed the preparedness of field functionaries for timely completion of the exercise.

During the review meetings, the concerned Charge Officers briefed the Principal Census Officer on the status of field operations, coverage of House Listing Blocks (HLBs) and measures being taken to ensure completion of the exercise within the prescribed timelines.

The DC also interacted with Supervisors and Enumerators and took stock of the progress achieved on the ground. Emphasising the importance of maintaining the quality and credibility of census data, the DC directed Supervisors and Charge Officers to undertake proper verification of completed HLBs before marking them as completed on the portal. Highlighting the statutory nature of the Census exercise, the DC reiterated that all information collected during the Census is strictly confidential and must not be shared with any unauthorised person or agency. He called upon all census functionaries to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality while discharging their duties.

The meetings were attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tral; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Awantipora; District Census Coordinator; concerned Charge Officers;  Supervisors and Enumerators.
