Srinagar : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha addressed the valedictory session of the International Conference on Amarnath Yatra, describing the pilgrimage as a living embodiment of India’s spiritual consciousness, cultural heritage and humane values.
He said the Yatra symbolizes social unity, inner reflection and shared humanity, while highlighting its importance for regional livelihoods and economic growth.
The Lieutenant Governor noted that extensive infrastructure upgrades—including widened tracks, improved lighting, digital registration, RFID and GPS monitoring, and enhanced surveillance—have made the pilgrimage safer and more accessible.
He also emphasized environmental protection, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to a zero-waste Yatra through waste recycling and anti-plastic initiatives.
