DC Srinagar, SSP finalize preparations for NEET-2026 examination

Labroo directs seamless coordination, comprehensive logistical, security arrangements

Srinagar : In order to finalize preparations and arrangements for the forthcoming re-examination of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET)-2026, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, AkshayLabroo, at the Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex here Thursday.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Srinagar Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy was present on the occasion.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, Additional Deputy Commissioner Aadil Fareed, Nodal Principal Colleges, Prof. Seema Naaz, Joint Commissioner SMC, Nuzhat Qureshi, IAS Probationer Alfred Thomas, SP Headquarter, Umar Shah, Chief Planning Officer Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Secretary SMC, Tahir Magray, SDM West, Irfan Bahadur, SDM, East, Zubair Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Umar Gulzar, Chief Education Officer, GhMohi-ud Din, all Tehsildars, representatives of the National Testing Agency (NTA), senior Officers of the District Administration, Traffic Police, Centre Supervisors,
During the meeting, a detailed review of all arrangements being put in place for the NEET-2026 re-examination scheduled to be held on June 21, 2026 was undertaken regarding deputation of Examination Staff including Centre Superintendents, Invigilators and supporting personnel and secure transportation, handling of examination material and conduct of mock exercise. Discussions also focused on ensuring the availability of adequate infrastructure and facilities at all designated examination centres, including uninterrupted power and water supply, proper seating arrangements, sanitation, transportation, medical assistance and deployment of requisite staff.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of meticulous planning and effective inter-departmental coordination to ensure the smooth, fair and transparent conduct of the examination. He directed all concerned departments to remain fully prepared and responsive to address any issue and ensure that candidates are provided with a conducive and hassle-free environment on the day of the examination.
The DC underscored the need for strict compliance with the guidelines and standard operating procedures issued by the National Testing Agency and other competent authorities. He directed all stakeholders to work in close coordination and ensure that every aspect of the examination is managed efficiently and professionally while upholding the integrity and credibility of the examination process.
The DC further stressed the establishment of a Joint Control Room for real-time monitoring of the examination process through live CCTV feeds from all examination centres. He directed the concerned agencies to strengthen CCTV surveillance mechanisms and as per the prescribed guidelines, to ensure the secure, fair, transparent and smooth conduct of the examination. He emphasized that all necessary technological and security measures must be put in place.
SSP Srinagar reviewed the security arrangements and directed the concerned Officers to implement a comprehensive security plan at all examination centres. He emphasized strict vigilance and adherence to examination protocols to prevent any malpractice and ensure the integrity of the examination process.
The meeting also reviewed traffic management plans, transportation facilities for examination personnel, emergency response mechanisms and arrangements for maintaining law and order around examination centres. Instructions were issued to ensure smooth movement of candidates and staff and to avoid any inconvenience during the conduct of the examination.
