DC Srinagar Lauds Responsible Journalism During Meeting with ‘The Chancellor’ Editor-in-Chief

Anuja Khushu presents copies of research-based fortnightly newspaper, highlights coverage of Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh and Northern Frontiers

 

Srinagar : Editor-in-Chief of The Chancellor, Anuja Khushu, called on Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo at his office in Srinagar and presented him copies of The Chancellor, a comprehensive fortnightly newspaper known for its research-based and in-depth coverage.

 

During the meeting, Anuja Khushu briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the newspaper’s editorial policy and the key areas to which the publication is dedicated. She said The Chancellor focuses extensively on national security, geo-strategic affairs, tourism, heritage, culture, literature, ecology, and other significant sectors, besides covering important national and international developments.

 

She further highlighted that the newspaper gives special emphasis to the unexplored facets of Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh and the wider Himalayan region, keeping in view the strategic importance of India’s Northern Frontiers in the country’s national security framework.

 

Khushu also informed the Deputy Commissioner that every issue of The Chancellor is based on primary research aimed at enhancing the shelf life and long-term relevance of its content. She said the publication seeks to serve serious readers, policymakers, scholars, academicians and researchers by providing analytical and credible content that can contribute to shaping developmental policies for society and the nation.

 

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, appreciated the quality and depth of content carried by The Chancellor and underscored the importance of responsible and authentic journalism in the present times.

 

He remarked that credible journalism plays a crucial role in promoting informed public discourse and contributes significantly to social and national well-being. Labroo also acknowledged the importance of research-driven reporting in addressing complex contemporary issues and supporting constructive policymaking.
