Kathua :Continuing the series of pre-International Day of Yoga 2026 activities, the District Administration Kathua, in collaboration with the District AYUSH Office Kathua, organised an awareness-cum-yoga session at Dream Land Park, Kathua, under the “Yoga 365” campaign.
Conducted under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”, the campaign aims to encourage citizens to adopt yoga as a daily wellness practice for promoting physical fitness, mental well-being and a healthy lifestyle.
The session was organised under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma, the directions of Director AYUSH J&K Dr Ajay Kumar Tikoo and the supervision of District AYUSH Officer Kathua Dr Rakesh Kumar Sharma.
The AYUSH team, comprising Nodal Officer IDY 2026 Dr Bodh Paul, Yoga Instructor Ankush Modeel and staff members, demonstrated various yoga asanas and pranayama techniques. Participants were sensitised about the role of yoga in stress management, improving flexibility, strengthening immunity and promoting healthy ageing.
The session highlighted the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of yoga in maintaining physical, mental and emotional well-being.
Among those present were officers from various departments, members of morning walker groups, Dr Vishal Malagar along with his team, prominent citizens and AYUSH staff.
