Srinagar :  Kashmir Medical College and Hospital (KMCH) Sempora recently conducted a free mental health and psychiatric camp in Lasjan, Srinagar, organized by its Department of Psychiatry.

The initiative was conducted to provide free consultations and medications to individuals suffering from various psychiatric and psychological conditions, with senior consultants and resident doctors actively involved in patient care. Notable participants included Dr. Altaf Malla, Dr. Shazia Kouser, Dr. Insha, and Dr. Mehreen Imran. This camp marked the second mental health program under KMCH’s broader community healthcare initiative, which seeks to extend specialized medical services to underserved regions. During the event, the medical team underscored the significance of early diagnosis and timely treatment of mental health disorders, while also emphasizing the role of community awareness and support in mitigating the stigma surrounding psychiatric care. The doctors engaged with local residents, providing education on common mental health issues, stress management, and the importance of seeking professional help. KMCH on this occasion expressed its commitment to enhance mental well-being and ensure access to quality mental healthcare.
