MVD Kishtwar disqualifies three driving licences, suspends one vehicle registration under NDPS Act

Kishtwar : Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Kishtwar, led by Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Tasleem Wani, suspended one vehicle registration and disqualified three driving licences of accused booked under the NDPS Act.

The action follows FIR No. 116/2026 under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act, registered at Police Station Kishtwar; FIR No. 131/2026 under Sections 8/18 of the NDPS Act, registered at Police Station Kishtwar/Police Post Drabshalla; and FIR No. 39/2026 under Sections 8/21/29 of the NDPS Act, registered at Police Station Kokernag.

Accordingly, the driving licences of Ramiz Raja S/o Late Abdul Qayoom, R/o Matta Sarkoot, Kishtwar (DL No. JK-1220080002386); Sameer Hussain S/o Ajaz Hussain, R/o Khori, Kishtwar (DL No. JK1720220000185) and Umer Yousuf S/o Mohd Yousuf Mahroo, R/o Inshan, Warwan (DL No. JK1720220000933) have been cancelled. Additionally, the registration of vehicle bearing number JK17-2770, owned by Nobia Nazir W/o Ramiz Raja, has been suspended.

The district administration has reiterated its zero-tolerance stance against the narcotics trade
