Ang : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested five individuals suspected of drug trafficking in Anantnag, Awantipora, and Pulwama districts and also seized contraband substances.

In a statement issued here on Saturday Police said that in Anantnag, two separate operations led to the arrest of Mohammad Yousuf Magray, who was found with 715 grams of a charas-like substance, and Javaid Ahmad Bhat had 158 grams of charas powder. In Awantipora, police apprehended two suspects, Adil Ahmad Dar and Muzaffar Ahmad Dar, after they attempted to flee during a routine motorcycle check. During searches 199 grams of cannabis powder, and the motorcycle used in the incident was confiscated. Additionally, in Pulwama, a police team intercepted a Sumo vehicle and recovered approximately seven grams of a heroin-like substance with the driver, Parvaiz Ahmad Hajam. Authorities have registered cases under the NDPS Act at the respective police stations and are conducting further investigations to identify the source and intended distribution of the seized drugs.
