DC Budgam, SSP visit injured children at SMHS, both stable on recovery mode

Srinagar : A driver was killed while two minor sisters sustained injuries after a school bus met with an accident in the Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday, officials said.
An official said that a school bus belonging to IPTS School Khansahib lost control and plunged into a deep gorge in the Negoo Jabbad area of Brenwar, Chadoora.
The deceased driver has been identified as Shahid Ahmad Lone, a resident of Kachwari, Khansahib. He died on the spot due to the impact of the crash.
“The injured students have been identified as two sisters Zeenat Ul Islam and Ifra Rashid, daughters of Abdul Rashid Gosi from Check-e-Quds, Khansahib. They were rescued from the accident site and shifted to Sub-District Hospital Chadoora before being referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for advanced treatment,” the official said.
Soon after the incident, residents, police personnel and rescue teams rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam Athar Aamir Khan and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Budgam Hariprasad K.K. visited SMHS Hospital Srinagar. They met the injured children and their attendants and reviewed the medical treatment being provided to them.
The attending doctors informed the DC and SSP that both children are stable and recovering well.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the hospital authorities to ensure the best possible medical care and all necessary assistance to the injured children during their recovery.
“The district administration is closely monitoring the situation,” DC Khan said, adding that all required medical facilities and support are being provided to the injured children and their families.
Police said they have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident
