Shopian : Police on Thursday said that it has unearthed an underground drug hideout in Shopian district and also recovered 28.968 kilograms of crushed cannabis powder from an orchard in Pashpora Keegam.
In a statement issued here on Thursday Police said that operation was conducted on the basis of specific inputs about the concealment of narcotics by one Mohd Iqbal Bhat S/O Mohd Jabbar Bhat R/O Pashpora Keegam. A raid was carried out by a team from Police Post Keegam, leading to the recovery of the contraband and the arrest of the accused. A case under FIR No. 112/2026 has been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is underway to identify forward and backward linkages in the drug trafficking network.
