Ganderbal : Police on Thursday said that it has seized four vehicles, including three tippers and one tractor, in the jurisdictions of Police Station Lar, Police Station Gund and Police Post Nagbal.
In a statement issued here on Thursday Police said that vehicles were allegedly involved in unauthorized extraction and transportation of minor minerals in violation of mining regulations. Following the seizure, the matter was referred to the Geology and Mining Department, which imposed penalties under the relevant provisions of law. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to protect natural resources and warned of strict action against those engaged in illegal mining activities.
