Shopian : Police on Thursday said that it has seized four tractors for being involved in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals from the Rambiara Nallah area during a crackdown on illegal mining.
In a statement issued here on Thursday Police said that a police party from Police Station Heerpora intercepted the vehicles during routine patrolling and found them operating without valid royalty documents. A case under FIR No. 49/2026 has been registered under relevant provisions of law, and further investigation is underway. In its statement Police appealed people to report illegal mining activities and assured confidentiality to informants.
