Srinagar: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved a ₹15.99 crore Water Supply Scheme for Watergam Town in Baramulla district under the Capex Budget 2026–27.
The project is aimed at significantly strengthening the drinking water infrastructure in the town and ensuring improved access to safe, reliable and sustainable potable water for the residents.
The scheme will help augment the existing water supply network, address the growing demand for drinking water, and enhance the quality of life of the people by providing better water services.
The approval reflects the Government’s continued commitment to improving essential public infrastructure and ensuring equitable access to basic services across Jammu and Kashmir. The initiative is expected to benefit a large population in Watergam and contribute to the overall socio-economic development of the area.
