Awantipora : Police on Wednesday said that it has attached a double storied residential house worth approximately ₹1.20 Crore belonging to a drug peddler, Manzoor Mir @ Mann Tiger R/O Kadlabal Pampore in Awantipora district under the provisions of Section 68-F of the NDPS Act.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday Police said that the property was identified as illegally acquired during an enquiry conducted by Police Station Pampore under the supervision of senior officers. During investigation the property  was found acquired through proceeds generated from the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

The accused is involved in multiple FIRs related to drug trafficking and narcotics offences. The attached property was found to be a result of his involvement in the illegal drug trade.

In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to eradicate drug menace and dismantle the financial networks of drug traffickers by targeting assets created through proceeds of crime with an aim to deter individuals involved in narcotics trafficking and strengthen efforts towards a drug free society.
