Baramulla: Police on Wednesday saif that it has terminated the services of Special Police Officer (SPO) Khalid Nazir Khan, a resident of Katipora, Tangmarg, with immediate effect following his involvement in a narcotics case.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Police said that the action stems from an incident on April 23, 2026, when police intercepted an Alto vehicle during routine checking at Wussan Crossing in Kunzer. Upon inspecting the vehicle and its occupants—which included the SPO—officers recovered syringes, needles, and silver foil used for consuming banned substances.
Following the recovery, a case under FIR No. 46/2026 was registered at the Kunzer Police Station. Citing his serious involvement and conduct unbecoming of a member of a disciplined force, authorities ordered his immediate disengagement from service.
