New Delhi: The Union Cabinet passed a major resolution on Wednesday congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming India’s longest-serving elected PM in consecutive terms. On June 10, PM Modi hit 4,399 continuous days in office, overtaking Jawaharlal Nehru’s record of 4,398 days set between 1952 and 1964. The Cabinet called this 12-year milestone a triumph of public trust.
National security was a major highlight. The Cabinet praised the administration’s fierce stance against terrorism, pointing to surgical strikes and bold foreign policy maneuvers.
“The elevation of national security was evidenced by strict actions against terrorism like surgical and cross-border air strikes, ‘Operation Sindoor,’ and the suspension of the unjust Indus Water Treaty,” the resolution stated.
The resolution also credited PM Modi with driving massive structural changes, including the abrogation of Article 370, implementing GST, One Rank One Pension (OROP), the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and labor reforms. Internal security also saw a major boost with peace accords in the North-East and a drop in Naxalism.
The report card showed a massive push for the poor, noting that infrastructure expansion and direct cash transfers successfully lifted 25 crore people out of poverty. Additionally, over 80 crore people received free rations, and 60 crore got free medical care.
On the economic front, India skyrocketed to become the world’s third-largest startup hub, fueled by hits like the Chandrayaan space missions. High-tech manufacturing surged under Make in India, while agricultural exports shattered the ₹5 lakh crore mark.
The Cabinet highlighted key moves for women, like the Lakhpati Didi scheme and the landmark 33% reservation for women in politics. Internationally, India transformed into a global leader, proved by its powerful G20 Presidency and climate goals like Mission LiFE.
The Cabinet wrapped up with best wishes, cheering on PM Modi’s vision of a “Viksit Bharat” to make India a fully developed nation by 2047.
