Directs expedited sanction of cases and enhanced outreach to youth across the district

GANDERBAL, JUNE 11: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, today chaired a meeting of the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) to review the progress of Mission YUVA and approve loan applications received under the scheme.

At the outset, the Additional District Development Commissioner briefed about the engagement of external trainers and presented the status of cases sanctioned and disbursed under Mission YUVA in the district so far.

Reviewing the progress of the scheme, the DC directed concerned officers to expedite the verification of applications and ensure smooth implementation of Mission YUVA at the grassroots level. He stressed the need to increase the number of external trainers to strengthen capacity-building programmes and provide adequate handholding support to selected beneficiaries.

The DC also instructed the Lead District Manager to improve the pace of sanctioning and disbursement of cases, assigning targets of processing number of cases daily, so that aspiring entrepreneurs can establish their ventures without unnecessary delay.

To strengthen monitoring and outreach, the DC directed the Assistant Director Employment to undertake regular inspection of units established under Mission YUVA for effective output tracking. He also emphasized the need to intensify awareness activities under Udyam Jagriti 5.0 in colleges and higher secondary schools across the district to encourage youth participation in self-employment and entrepreneurship initiatives.

The committee subsequently reviewed the applications received under Mission YUVA in detail, assessing their eligibility, viability and employment-generation potential.

During the meeting, emphasis was laid on ensuring transparency, timely processing of applications and extending support to deserving youth with innovative and sustainable business ideas.

The DC highlighted the importance of close coordination among line departments and financial institutions for effective implementation of the scheme.

After detailed scrutiny, the committee approved 163 cases, paving the way for financial and institutional support to the beneficiaries under Mission YUVA. The DC directed concerned officers to complete all remaining formalities at the earliest to facilitate prompt disbursement and timely establishment of the approved ventures.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Manzoor Ahmad; General Manager District Industries Centre, Lead District Manager, Assistant Director Employment, District Social Welfare Officer, Nodal Officer JKEDI and other concerned officers.
