Srinagar: Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh reviewed operational preparedness and infrastructure along the Line of Actual Control during a three-day visit to the strategically sensitive Leh sector from June 5 to 7, the Defence Ministry said.
During his visit, Singh held detailed discussions with senior military commanders at the Headquarters of 14 Corps, focusing on operational readiness, border infrastructure development and logistical sustainability in Eastern Ladakh.
In a tweet, PRO and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Defence, Jammu Region, said he also travelled to forward areas, including Base Camp and the Northern Glacier, where he interacted with troops deployed in high-altitude conditions.
The Defence Secretary commended their dedication, courage and professionalism in safeguarding the nation’s borders under challenging terrain and harsh weather conditions.
The visit comes amid continued efforts to strengthen infrastructure and enhance operational capabilities along the northern borders
