Jammu : Director Horticulture Jammu Gul Syed Saturday interacted with the trainees here at the Fruit Craft Centre, Jammu.
The batch is undergoing training in the art of fruit and vegetable preservation. The training programme is being conducted in collaboration with the Skill India Programme, with the objective of enhancing skills, entrepreneurship and employment opportunities in the processing sector.
During the interaction, the Director emphasized the importance of value addition and post-harvest management in horticulture. He encouraged the trainees to make full use of the programme and acquire practical knowledge in fruit and vegetable processing, preservation, packaging and marketing.
The interaction programme was attended by Chief Canning Instructor Sanjeev Karlupia, Manager-cum-Chemist Shrestha Gaur, the staff of the Centre and officers and officials of the Horticulture Department.
