Chairman DLSA Jammu inspects working of Prison Legal Aid Clinic at Central Jail Kotbalwal

Jammu :Ravinder Nath Watal, Principal District & Sessions Judge(Chairman, DLSA Jammu), along with Maleeka Sharma, Civil Judge Sr. Div(Secretary, DLSA) and Anil Sharma (Chief LADC Jammu) conducted an inspection of the Prison Legal Aid Clinic at Central Jail KotBhalwalSaturday.

The Chairman and Secretary held interactions with jail inmates to assess their legal aid requirements, grievances and ensured effective implementation of free legal services as per the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987. They enquired about the facilities provided in the jail and addressed their concerns.

They also conducted a detailed visit to the Special Care Hospital and OPD at the jail premises, interacted with patients, reviewed medical records and directed improvements in healthcare services for inmates. The functioning of the Legal Aid Clinic was thoroughly inspected and directions were issued for timely processing of pending legal aid applications, proper maintenance of records and expeditious grievance redressal of inmates.
