Srinagar: Police on Friday said that it has attached moveable and immoveable properties valued worth more than ₹4 crores linked to drug trafficking. The actions were taken under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act by the Lal Bazar and Khanayar Police Stations:
In a statement issued here on Friday Police said that it has attached a two-story house on 9 marlas of land and a Swift Dzire vehicle belonging to Aadil Ahmad Dhobi (Sikh Bagh). In a separate case, they seized a Santro vehicle belonging to Arshid Ahmad Sheikh (Haka Bazar). In yet another similar action a two-story house and 12 marlas of land, valued at approximately ₹2 crore, belonging to Owais Hussain Mir (Tangbagh) was also attached. The property was identified as an illegally acquired asset funded by drug proceeds. In its statement Police said that operation are carried out to to dismantle the financial infrastructure of local narcotics networks, appealing people therein to support the NashaMukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan by reporting drug-related activities.
