Labroo reviews public issues, developmental demands

 

Srinagar : As part of the ongoing Block Diwas programme aimed at strengthening public outreach and ensuring responsive governance, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, AkshayLabrooWednesday  conducted a Grievance Redressal Camp at Joggers Park Rajbagh, where he interacted with local residents and took stock of their issues and developmental requirements.

During the camp, a large number of residents and representatives of Rajbagh, Ikhrajpora, Jawahar Nagar, KursuPadshahibagh and other adjoining areas of K.P Bagh in Tehsil South of the District participated and projected various public grievances and demands pertaining to civic amenities, infrastructure development, sanitation, drainage, road connectivity, street lighting, augmentation of water supply, upgradation of health facilities and other issues of public importance.

The DC gave a patient hearing to the grievances and demands raised by the participants and emphasized the administration’s commitment towards addressing genuine public concerns in a prompt and effective manner. He directed the concerned officers to examine the issues raised during the camp and ensure necessary follow-up for their early resolution.

While reviewing the developmental needs of the area, the DC reiterated that the District Administration is committed to promoting participatory governance by reaching out to people at the grassroots level and incorporating their feedback into the planning and execution of developmental initiatives.

He assured the participants that other genuine issues including jurisdictional issues and demands would be taken up with the concerned departments and addressed in a time-bound manner. He further stressed the importance of sustained public engagement in ensuring efficient service delivery and inclusive development.

On the occasion, the DC passed on the spot directions to Officers from various line departments present on the occasion who responded to several grievances on the spot, while issues requiring further intervention were noted for appropriate action.

The DC further emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among all line departments to ensure timely redressal of grievances and effective implementation of developmental works on the ground.

The participants appreciated the initiative and expressed satisfaction over the opportunity to directly interact with the District Administration and highlight issues affecting their localities.

The programme was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, Chief Planning Officer Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Secretary SMC, Tahir Ahmad Magray, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Tahir Sajad, District Social Welfare Officer, Mohammad Yousuf, Executive Engineer R&B, Farid Ahmad Khan, Executive Engineer, R&B, Khalid Mehmood, Executive Engineer Water Works, Aijaz Rafiq, Executive Engineer PDD, Tasaduk Nabi, Dy CEO Anjuma Raja, Tehsildar South, Sajad Rasool Shah and other District and Sectoral Officers.
