Ganderbal, June 4 : The Traffic Police Rural Kashmir on Thursday issued a traffic advisory announcing restrictions and diversions in Ganderbal district in view of a mega padyatra being organised under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan on June 5.

According to the advisory, vehicular movement on key stretches, including Pandach Crossing to Wayil-Manigam Crossing, Beehama Chowk to Barsoo Crossing, and T-Chowk to Gadoora, will remain completely suspended from 4 a.m. to 3 p.m. to facilitate the smooth conduct of the event.

Authorities have advised motorists to avoid unnecessary travel within Ganderbal town during the programme and follow designated diversion routes.

Traffic heading towards Srinagar from Ladakh, Sonamarg and Kangan will be diverted at Wayil-Manigam Crossing via Shadipora and Shalteng. Similarly, vehicles from Guthlibagh will be routed through Wayil-Manigam Crossing, Shadipora and Shalteng towards Srinagar.

Commuters travelling from Lar and Tulmulla areas towards Srinagar will be diverted through Dangarpora, Barsoo Crossing, Shadipora and Shalteng, the advisory said.

The Traffic Police said the diversions have been put in place to ensure obstacle-free movement of traffic and smooth conduct of the anti-drug awareness rally.

The advisory was issued by Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic Rural Kashmir) Liaqat Ali, who appealed to the public to cooperate with traffic authorities and adhere to the restrictions in the larger public interest.
