*Baramulla, June 02, : As part of its sustained efforts to combat drug abuse and narcotics-related activities under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Baramulla Police today conducted a wild cannabis destruction drive at Check Jamal Mir, Palhalan, in close coordination with local residents.
The drive was organized with the objective of preventing the illegal cultivation and misuse of cannabis and to reinforce the collective resolve of the community against the drug menace. During the operation, wild cannabis plants spread over approximately one kanal of state land were identified and destroyed on the spot, thereby eliminating the possibility of their illicit use.
The initiative witnessed active participation and cooperation from members of the local community, reflecting a shared commitment towards creating a drug-free and healthy society. Police officials also used the occasion to sensitize local residents about the harmful effects of narcotic substances and the importance of community participation in curbing drug-related activities.
