Srinagar: In this week’s edition of KH Snippets, we bring you a quick roundup of the key developments shaping headlines across governance, infrastructure, economy and public policy. From Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s review of major infrastructure projects worth ₹30,000 crore to the push for rooftop solar expansion, Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 and the Ken-Betwa river-linking project, the week witnessed significant policy-level discussions focused on development, sustainability and faster implementation.

  1. PM Reviews ₹30,000 Cr Infra Projects Across 9 States: Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 51st PRAGATI meeting and reviewed seven major infrastructure projects spanning the Railways, Power and Road sectors across nine States. The projects involve a cumulative investment of nearly ₹30,000 crore and focus on faster execution, inter-agency coordination and timely resolution of bottlenecks.
  2. PM Pushes Mission-Mode Rooftop Solar Expansion in Urban Areas: While reviewing power sector projects, Prime Minister Modi directed States to accelerate rooftop solar adoption in cities, residential colonies and public institutions. He said rooftop solar coverage should be implemented in mission mode to reduce electricity costs, improve energy security and promote clean energy generation.

Ken-Betwa Project Should Become National Model, Says PM Modi” Prime Minister Modi reviewed the Ken-Betwa River Inter-linking Project and said it should serve as a model for resolving inter-State water disputes through cooperation and timely execution. He also encouraged States to explore integrated projects involving river-linking, groundwater recharge and efficient irrigation for long-term water security.
  4. PM Calls For Faster Waste Management Infra Under SBM 2.0: Reviewing Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0, Prime Minister Modi asked States to expedite the completion of solid waste management infrastructure, including waste processing and GOBARdhan plants. He stressed that the mission should focus on measurable outcomes through regular monitoring and citizen participation.
  5. Monthly Review System For Social Sector Schemes Operationalised: The Cabinet Secretary informed during the PRAGATI meeting that a system of monthly reviews of social sector schemes at the State level has now been operationalised following the Prime Minister’s directions. Swachh Bharat Mission has been taken up for review in the first phase to ensure faster implementation and greater accountability.
