Srinagar, May 30: Jammu and Kashmir Minister for School Education, Higher Education, Health & Medical Education and Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo, on Saturday announced summer vacations for all government and private colleges in the Summer Zone of Jammu Division.

Sharing the announcement on X, the minister said the decision had been taken in view of the onset of the summer season and to ensure the well-being of students and staff.

“Considering the onset of the summer season and in the interest of the well-being of students and staff, summer vacations are hereby announced for all Government and Private Colleges in the Summer Zone of Jammu Division from June 1 to July 15, 2026,” Itoo said.

The move comes amid rising temperatures across the Jammu region, where authorities have been taking precautionary measures to protect students from the prevailing heatwave conditions.

According to the announcement, all government and private colleges in the Summer Zone of Jammu Division will remain closed from June 1 to July 15.

Educational institutions are expected to resume academic activities after the vacation period, subject to any further directions from the government.
