Police Warn Against Circulation of Misleading Viral Video
Sopore, May 29: Sopore Police on Friday clarified that a video being circulated on social media as a recent incident from Panzipora area of Sopore is actually an old video related to a 2025 case in which police had already taken cognisance and initiated necessary action.
In a statement, Sopore Police said that the misleading circulation of the old video has been taken seriously and urged social media users as well as news pages to verify facts before sharing any content online.
Police said that sharing old videos as fresh incidents spreads misinformation and causes unnecessary distress to the affected families and the general public.
“Please verify before you amplify,” the statement added, appealing people to act responsibly while using social media platforms.
