The Middle East crisis is now becoming a global emergency. If it is not resolved in time, it may lead to an uncontrollable spillover into other parts of the world, thereby endangering the entire globe with its deadly consequences. In today’s world, war, in its technical sense, is no longer limited to the use of weapons by opposing combatants; rather, it has become a massive disruption of daily routine touching every aspect of life, thereby becoming tsuanami for integrated ethos of life. Modern war is like a deadly virus if not contained through the “vaccine” of peace, it can infect not only the security framework of nations but also the innocent lives of ordinary individuals.
In such a scenario, instead of war merely occurring between two or more countries, the battle begins within the minds and existence of individuals themselves. A psychological analysis of the impact of war on global populations reveals the emergence of what may be termed as depression war, stress war, anxiety war, the war of hopelessness, and the war of suicidal ideation. This means that although the common person may not be flying an F35 Jet or directly participating on the battlefield, they are nonetheless deeply involved in war through these profound psychological issues.
War in the Middle east is permeating to such a ground level that it is not merely an emergent issue requiring immediate attention, but must be halted through the development of a just and collective global consciousness. It is not enough merely to pay attention and consideration to it; but must be stopped at any cost, by hook or by crook. It should not only be discussed, but must also be declared as a global emergency. This task should be undertaken by the United Nations General Assembly in collaboration with all peace loving countries that are genuinely willing to make this globe a place of peaceful coexistence. Although global awareness regarding the devastating effects of war is evident at the public level, it cannot yield fruitful results unless it is supported by the political representatives of respective countries. It is being observed that a growing disagreement is emerging between governments and their citizens across many countries of the world, which is not a positive sign for the future well being of this globe.
In America, a major warmongering country, a majority of Americans believe that war with Iran was the wrong decision and disapprove of Donald Trump’s handling of the conflict. Researchers believe that about six in ten Americans (61%) disapproved of Trump’s handling of the conflict, while 59% said that using military force against Iran was the wrong decision.

“Amid current global unrest from the America-Israel-Iran conflict, India should leverage its historic diplomatic flexibility, Non-Aligned Movement policy, and respected peace-brokering tradition to actively help restore global peace.”

The same situation is prevailing, by and large, in other Western countries as well. Although global peace consciousness is gradually making its way to counter the virus of war, unless political peace consciousness is grafted onto it, uncertainty will continue to loom over the imkan (possibility) of establishing lasting peace. Political peace consciousness is important because it is a mighty force; its vision and action matter greatly and can pave a smoother path toward the establishment of peace in its real sense. This imbroglio can be best understood in the words of Max Stirner: “A handful of might is better than a bag full of right.” But unfortunately, especially in Western countries, there is an ongoing conflict between the state and the majority of its citizens. Governments are striving to curtail their freedom of speech, which is opposite to the very basic function of the state. Agreeing with Baruch Spinoza, freedom is the goal of the state because the function of the state is to promote growth, and growth depends on capacity finding freedom.
Global peace consciousness is not merely an organization of voices, but the very first brick in the foundation of peace. However, to keep these bricks standing firmly, the cementing force must come from political circles. Politicians must refine their thoughts while dealing with the simmering discontent of citizens. In the backdrop of this war, public discontent arising from the absence of peace in the timeline of modern world history has become a serious concern for global humanity. Governments and states must therefore show humility and commitment in enforcing peace strategies for all the ongoing conflicts across the world. Peace cannot be established through ill intentioned and malicious policies and diplomacy. It can neither be sold nor bought; it must be created through an inclusive policy of peaceful coexistence based on sovereign equality.
Role To Be Played By India: India is a country of diversity and has a remarkable history of diplomatic neutrality and flexibility in times of crisis, such as the one being witnessed today due to the America Israel and Iran war. India’s Non-Aligned Movement policy and peace brokering approach have earned it respect throughout the world. In this context, India should expedite its historical peace loving mechanism and diplomatic flexibility to play a significant role in the establishment of global peace amid the current atmosphere of uncertainty and unrest.
