Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has seized 12 vehicles including JCBs, tippers, dumpers and a tractor used in illegal minng activities in Anantnag and Shopian districts.
In a statement issued here on Monday Police said that in Anantnag, five tippers were seized during operations at Donipawa and Dialgam crossing, while night patrolling teams intercepted vehicles involved in illegal mineral transport. In Shopian, a JCB and tractor were seized from Berthipora for operating without valid royalty documents. FIRs have been registered and investigations initiated. Police reiterated strict action against illegal exploitation of natural resources.
