Handwara: Police on Saturday said that it has attached a residential house worth around ₹15 lakh allegedly renovated using proceeds from illicit drug trafficking under the ongoing NashaMukt J&K Abhiyan.
In a statement issued here on Saturday Police said that the property belongs to an accused from Ucher Magam area of Handwara who is involved in multiple cases under the NDPS Act, police said. In its statement Police said that the attachment was aimed at choking the financial backbone of narcotics networks operating in the region, reiterating therein that strict legal action would continue against individuals involved in drug trafficking.
