Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has attached properties worth Rs 5 Crores in major crackdowns in Srinagar and surrounding districts under ongoing Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan initiative.
In a statement issued here on Saturday Police said that the properties, which include several residential houses located in Beerwah, Chanapora, Jawahar Nagar, Rajbagh, Bandipora, and Bemina, are linked to individuals involved in narcotic-related offenses under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Among the significant seizures was a double-storeyed house in Bemina, valued at around ₹1.7 crore, associated with an accused involved in narcotics and forgery. Additionally, properties worth about ₹1 crore each were confiscated in Chanapora and Jawahar Nagar. During investigations these properties were found to have acquired through funds generated from illegal drug trafficking activities. Officials have described this action as a crucial step in dismantling the financial networks of narcotics traffickers in the Kashmir region.
