MVD Rajouri conducts extensive vehicle checking drive; issues 16 challans, seizes 4 vehicles

Rajouri, :The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Rajouri conducted an extensive vehicle checking drive Saturdayunder the supervision of ARTO Ashiq Rafiq Malik.

A total of 70 vehicles were checked. The enforcement team issued 16 challans for violation of different sections, while 4 vehicles were seized for serious violations. The expected amount of penalty from the challans stands at Rs 50,400.

Further, 2 Driving Licences (DLs) were recommended for suspension for violation of traffic rules.

The ARTO also interacted with passengers to verify the fare being charged by the transporters. The passengers were urged to report any instance of overcharging or violation of transport norms to the concerned authorities

The violations detected during the drive included driving without Driving Licence, overloading, operating vehicles without Speed Limiting Device (SLD), unauthorized vehicle alteration, riding without helmet, driving without prescribed uniform, dangerous driving and defiance of lawful directions.

The ARTO reiterated that strict enforcement drives shall continue to ensure road safety, promote traffic discipline and curb violations endangering public safety.

The inspection team included MVI Rajeev Kundal, AMVI Neetan Singh and other officials of the Motor Vehicles Department Rajouri.
