Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that it has arrested four drug peddlers and also recovered contraband substances from their possession in Anantnag, Awantipora, and Sopore.
In a statement issued here on Saturday Police said that in Kokernag area of Anantnag, two individuals were apprehended with approximately 584 grams of a ganja-like substance and 67 grams of a charas-like substance. In Tral area of Awantipora, another suspect was found in possession of 75 grams of charas and 460 grams of grinded cannabis. Additionally, in Sopore, one more drug peddler was arrested near Grid Station Seelo, with heroin-like substances recovered from him. In its statement Police registered cases under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and investigations are currently ongoing.
