Baramulla, May 23: The JK Teachers Association (JKTA) in collaboration with JKECC Baramulla on Friday organised a massive barefoot awareness march against drug abuse under the nationwide Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan, reaffirming its commitment towards building a healthy and addiction-free society.
The rally was led by Chairman Shah Fayaz, District President Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, and Provincial President Altaf Hussain Bhat. Thousands of teachers and participants joined the march, walking barefoot as a symbolic gesture to highlight the pain, suffering, and devastation caused by drug addiction in society.
Participants carried placards and raised anti-drug slogans, spreading awareness about the growing menace of substance abuse and the urgent need for collective action to eradicate it from society.
Addressing the gathering, the speakers emphasized the crucial role of teachers, parents, and civil society in guiding the younger generation towards a disciplined, constructive, and value-based life. They urged the youth to stay away from drugs and appealed to every section of society to actively support the mission of creating a drug-free future.
The leaders said that educational institutions and social organisations must work together to strengthen awareness campaigns and inspire young people to channel their energies towards education, sports, and positive social activities.
The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from teachers and members of the community, sending out a strong message of unity and commitment towards making Baramulla drug-free in line with the vision of the Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan.
