Pattan : Police on Friday said that it has dismanted an illicit drug supply network in the Pattan area of Baramulla district.
In a statement issued here on Friday Police said that the operation was initiated following credible inputs about involvement of Musadiq Rashid Yatoo, the owner of “Musa Medicate,” in the illegal sale of psychotropic drugs to local youth. An FIR was registered at Police Station Pattan, leading to the acquisition of search warrants from the local court. During a raid, Yatoo was apprehended while selling psychotropic drugs, with authorities recovering 105 tablets of Tramadol. He was subsequently arrested. Further investigation revealed that the drugs were supplied by Irfan Yousuf, the owner of “Wani Pharma Distributor.” Following this lead, police conducted searches at Yousuf’s premises and his residence and seized 690 tablets of Etizolam and 100 tablets of Cloprax-B20. Both individuals have been arrested, and their medical establishments have been sealed by the Drug Control Officer and Executive Magistrate. Additionally, digital devices belonging to the accused have been confiscated for forensic examination.
