New Dehli :A two-day National Review Meeting and Conclave on Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0 concluded in New Delhi, bringing together Ministers, senior officers and representatives from various States and Union Territories to deliberate on the progress and future roadmap of urban sanitation and waste management initiatives across the country.

Jammu & Kashmir participated in the conclave with a delegation led by Minister for Rural Development, Agriculture Production, Panchayati Raj, Cooperative and Election Department, Javid Ahmed Dar.

The delegation also included Commissioner Secretary HUDD, Mandeep Kaur and Director Swachh Bharat Mission Urban, Dr.Devansh Yadav.

During the two-day deliberations, extensive discussions were held on key aspects of Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0, including bioremediation of legacy waste, operationalisation of waste processing plants, ensuring visible cleanliness in urban areas and transforming the mission into a mass movement through the concept of “Jan Abhiyaan”.

Ministers from different States, Secretaries from various Ministries and senior officials presented best practices and shared successful models being implemented in their respective regions. The conclave also focused on addressing challenges being faced in implementation and evolving practical solutions for strengthening urban sanitation systems across the country.

The proposed Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026 were also discussed in detail during the sessions. Deliberations were held on strategies for effective implementation of the rules in compliance with the directions of the Supreme Court, and a comprehensive action plan was firmed up for their execution at the national and state levels.

The conclave reaffirmed the collective commitment of all States and Union Territories towards achieving the vision of clean, sustainable, and garbage-free urban India under Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0.
