Srinagar : In a first-of-its-kind surveillance measure in Anantnag, police installed a GPS-enabled tracking anklet on an accused involved in an NDPS case who was granted bail by a court.
According to a police statement issued here on Wednesday the accused, identified as Aejaz Ahmad Tantray of Verinag, is involved in FIR No. 49/2026 under Sections 8/21 NDPS Act registered at Police Station Dooru, adding therein that GPS anklet would allow real-time monitoring of the accused’s movement to ensure strict compliance with bail conditions.
