Advisor to CM reviews New Assembly Complex construction, inspects dev works in Jammu

Jammu :Advisor to Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani, Wednesday  conducted a comprehensive on-site review of the New Legislative Complex at Jammu besides inspecting the development works in the region.

The visit was aimed to inspect the ongoing construction work and ensure that all state-of-the-art infrastructural amenities aligned with global standards for Legislative efficiency are being adhered to by the executing agency. The Executive Engineer PWD(R&B) Project Division-II presented the overview of the project, floor-wise facilities being constructed, details of enhanced seating capacity of Assembly Hall, construction of central hall, external finishing etc.

uring a recent visit, the Advisor conducted a tour of the central assembly hall and administrative chambers, emphasizing the government’s commitment to strengthening democratic infrastructure in the Union Territory. He directed the executing agency to expedite the completion of the New Legislative Complex, highlighting its importance for future democratic proceedings and the convenience of public representatives. The Advisor stated that robust infrastructure is essential for effective governance and that the complex should be completed promptly and with high quality. The New Legislative Complex is designed to be accessible, eco-friendly, and technologically advanced, featuring facilities such as e-Vidhan. The administration aims to enhance the working environment for lawmakers through an expedited timeline. The Advisor also engaged with senior engineers from the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Mechanical Engineering Department to review the project’s structural and technical specifications, ensuring the integration of advanced IT infrastructure, modern acoustics, and enhanced security systems. In addition to the legislative complex, the Advisor inspected various ongoing developmental projects in Jammu, including the permanent restoration of the approach road to the 4th Tawi Bridge, which has an estimated cost of ₹14.59 crore and a completion period of 12 months. This project aims to improve connectivity and traffic movement in the area. He also reviewed repair and renovation works at Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar in preparation for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra, with an estimated cost of ₹1.59 crore and a completion timeline of one and a half months. Furthermore, the Advisor inspected the construction of a 105-meter span prestressed RCC bridge over Balole Nalla at Gadi Garh, which has been completed at a cost of ₹7.2 crore within 24 months. He received updates on the preparations for the Shri Amarnath Yatra, particularly from the PWD (R&B) Division Satwari, and directed authorities to ensure timely completion of all ongoing works to provide adequate facilities for the public and pilgrims. During his visit to the Yatri Niwas, the Advisor also assessed healthcare arrangements at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) for the Yatris, receiving a briefing from the Chief Medical Officer of Jammu regarding the necessary preparations for the upcoming pilgrimage.
