Handwara: Police on Monday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in separate operations in Handwara and recovered charas-like contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued here on Monday Police said that during naka checking at Manzgam Crossing Vilgam, police apprehended Altaf Ahmad Mir of MatiporaTarathpora and recovered contraband substance from his possession. In another operation at UtingrooQalamabad, police arrested Naseer Ahmad Ahanger of AudooraQalamabad with charas-like substance. Both accused have been arrested and cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations. Further investigation is underway.
