‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ House Committee meets in LA Complex

Srinagar : A meeting of House Committee on Jal Jeevan Mission was held in the Legislative Assembly Complex, Srinagar under the Chairmanship of MLA Hasnain Masoodi.

The meeting was attended by the MLAs including Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, Ali Mohammad Dar, Altaf Ahmad Wani, Ajaz Ahmad Jan, Tanveer Sadiq, Javaid Riyaz (Bedar), Rafiq Ahmad Naik, Arjun Singh Raju and Iftikar Ahmad.

During the meeting, the Chairman recapitulated and shared with the Members meeting proceedings and field observations of the Committee for their appraisal. He sought their suggestions/findings  that could be incorporated in the final report of the Committee to be submitted by or before 31st May 2026 i.e on the expiry of term of the Committee.

The Members highlighted various discrepancies observed by the Committee during field visits as far as work execution of Water Supply Schemes in different districts is concerned. They emphasized timely submission of Committee Report based  on facts, field observations and records furnished by the Department to the House Committee.

Moreover, the Committee also deliberated upon the communication received by the Assembly Secretariat from Jal Shakti Department where in permission has been sought from the House Committee for delinking of 1426 retrofitting WSS from Jal Jeevan Mission.
